If you know of any hydrogen stock that is not listed here and should be, please let us know by leaving a comment. Also for stocks in the list that you think should be removed.
Concerning your artricle “List of Hydrogen Stocks”. The Swedish company Powercell should be added.
Done- thanks.
HI There I dont see HydroGenetic’s, Thank’s
I think you’re talking about Hydrogenics (HYGS). It’s in the list.
Hydrogenigs has been acquired.
Swedish company Cell impact AB
Producer of bipolarplates with a high velocity stamping technique.
Thanks, will add.
What about the Chicago company with a license agreement from US Military to manufactureH2 cell for alternative clean energy!
I need a little more information than that. What is this company’s name, and is it publicly traded?
Tom, not hydrogen directly but related – you wrote about solid oxide fuel cells a while ago but haven’t mentioned lately. Any suggestions in that niche?
Not a niche I’m excited about, but here’s my current list of fuel cell stocks: http://www.altenergystocks.com/archives/2018/04/list-of-fuel-cell-stocks/… a few of them are SOFC. BE and FCEL are both SOFC. I’m not sure about the other ones listed below, but it should be easy to check.
AFC Energy (AFC.L)
Bloom Energy Corporation (BE)
Ceres Power Holdings PLC (CPWHF)
Enova Systems (ENVS)
FuelCell Energy (FCEL)
ITM Power (ITM.L)
Neah Power Systems (NPWZ)
SFC Energy AG (F3C.DE)
Hypersolar HYSR is in the field – albiet its in the OTC market
It’s already on the list… nothing I’d invest in, but it is indeed a hydrogen stock.
Very helpful list for all sorts of interests. As green clean energy becomes more available and investors with future considerations and opportunities may benefit from these knowledge. Hysr is expected to produce Hydrogen from water and sunlight. PLUG Balard FCEL are more established businesses. Thanks.
Hi,
HZR in Australia is also working on Hydrogen Related Fuel possibilities.
https://www.hazergroup.com.au/
Thanks, it’s added.
Take a look at Linde pic (NYSE stock ticker LIN) as they are an emerging global leader in hydrogen solutions. Thank you for your research.
Thanks for the suggestion, but the problem with Linde is that it is just too big. As far as I can tell, while Linde’s contribution to the hydrogen industry may be significant to the industry, the hydrogen industry is too small a part of Linde’s business to be significant to Linde. I’d like to see 15+% of revenues or profits come from Hydrogen before I add it to the list.
What sector of the market are these companies in?
Depends on the company. I personally think that market sectors are fairly meaningless, but to each his own.
What about the company Hynet?
It does not seem to be a publicly listed stock.
EU recovery plan centered around the Green Deal, with focus on hydrogen (amongst other renewables, but the hydrogen focus is for me the eye catcher): https://www.fch.europa.eu/news/clean-hydrogen-next-generation-eu and https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_20_940
Quite some R&D project funding expected.
I’m glad they are doing it, but R&D stage stuff is still too early for me to consider investing.
Ceres Power
I don’t consider Ceres a hydrogen stock. while their Solid Oxide Fuel Cells *can* use hydrogen, the primary use of SOFCs is burning more conventional fuels. It is in the fuel cell list, however.
SFC Energy (German)
Hexagon Composies (Norwegien)
I generally want hydrogen related businesses to be a significant part of revenue in order to make the list…. SFC does do fuel cells, but as far as I can tell, hydrogen fuel cells are only a small part of its business. Save for Hexagon… they do make hydrogen fuel tanks and pipelines, but it seems to be a tiny part of their business. If I’m wrong about that, please let me know and let me know where you found the info.
Linde a German company has a growing part of hydrogen activities in their bussiness
I have an other question what i would like to ask. Does anyone know a mixfunds of hydrogen companies? I know of some climate change funds, but the participation of hydrogen is small.
I try to include only companies where hydrogen is already a significant part of a company’s business in this list, for the same reason that you are not interested in the existing mutual funds. What percentage of revenues or earnings is Hydrogen for Linde?
No, there are no hydrogen focused mutual funds yet.

Enjoy
Both of these are more fuel cell stocks than hydrogen stocks, so I’m adding them to the Fuel Cell list. http://www.altenergystocks.com/archives/2018/04/list-of-fuel-cell-stocks/. I added MyFC to both lists, because they do hydrogen fuel cells.
Helpful list, thank you. Shouldn’t FuelCell Energy be listed only under the Fuel Cell list (similar to Bloom and Ceres)? Seems like their fuel cell products also currently use natural gas but I am still learning.
FCEL is on the Fuel Cell Stocks list. The lists are alphabetical by company name.
Right, but it’s also on the hydrogen list… shouldn’t it ONLY be on the fuel cell list like Bloom and Ceres? Again, I could be missing something but seems like their fuel cell products use natural gas.
They have a fuel cell that is designed to work with hydrogen. Don’t know if that’s enough of their business to really justify being on the hydrogen list, though, but hydrogen does make it into their short company description. I did not see that for either Impact Coatings, though.
Algalco from Indiana
Not a public company.

HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH
Carl-Scheele-Str. 16 | 12489 Berlin | Germany
http://www.homepowersolutions.de
Nope. Checking if a company is public is just a matter of visiting the website and seeing if they have an “investors” page.
I heard about a company called Next Hydrogen but can’t seem to find if it’s publicly traded.
If the company does not have an “investors” page on its website, it’s not publicly traded. Most companies (at least by number, if not by size) are not.
In September Next Hydrogens website says they completed an over subscribed equity private placement. I thought that means they’re issuing shares but not sure what the private means. Can a company stay private and issue equity.
Yes. All companies have equity, but only a few list that equity on a stock exchange. In this context “private” means not on an exchange, aka not publicly listed.
Green Hydrogen Systems A/S (GREENH.CO)
Fusion Fuel Green PLC (HTOO)
Thanks, added!
Not a company, but there is also the HDRO ETF
HydrogenPro AS (HYPRO.OL)

Hynion AS (HYN.OL)
Hydrogen fueling stations
Thanks, Roel.
